Jane's Rocking Chair
Leather and Wood are two naturals that go well together. When a nice
women asked if I would be interested in restoring a worn leather rocking
chair seat for her I was happy to give it a try. She mailed me the original
seat which was embossed with a rather interesting design. Normally I transfer
my designs from a finished sketch but in this instance I tried to work
more by freehand on the transfer and came up with a one of a kind piece.
The flatbed scanner which is a common accessory with many home computer
system is a great way to document a project and Jane was happy to see her
new seat take shape. My scanner was just a bit too narrow for this circle
but it worked rather nicely anyway.
Now I like to photograph my work before it goes out the door.
